Creativity Fortnight

We are half way through creativity fortnight and what an exciting week we have had so far! Visits from Chris Kirk, international long jumper and James from the Little Wings charity. We have been learning all about Japan and have already created some beautiful pieces of work.
A big well done to Kai for winning the opportunity to carry our class torch. Kai was nominated by the class for being such a good friend and I nominated Kai for always having fantastic manners! What a great achievement!

Don’t forget to check out the Creativity page on the blogsite and see what the rest of the school is getting up to!

Enjoy!

A cinema treat

I am interested to see what everyone thought of year 3/4’s cinema trip on Friday! Write me an interesting reply to let me know if you enjoyed it and why.
I absolutely loved watching all of your films on the big screen in a real cinema. It was so exciting!
I thought the film making experience with Haltwhistle was excellent and something I will never forget and I’m sure you won’t either.

Don’t forget this Friday we will be going into the KS2 hall at 9.30am to watch the films again. We have invited parents and the rest of KS2 so you can all show off your work!

Great job Year 3/4! I am very proud of you all!

Welcome back!

Welcome back to school everyone! It was lovely to see you all today.

We had a very busy time last term and I loved the Titanic topic. It was very interesting and I think we learnt a lot.

One of my highlights was working with Haltwhistle film project to create our Titanic animation. It was great to learn all of the skills needed to create a high quality animation. I was very impressed with you all, the way you all got on with your tasks and put all of your effort into it, well done to everyone! I can’t wait to see the finished film.  We will continue to practise animating this term. Kyle even made his very own at home and you can view in the Benton Park films section of the blog site. Well done Kyle. I am also looking forward to watching Miss Mulholland’s and Mr Cowen’s class films because I think that they will be fantastic too. It will be interesting to see the ideas they came up with and all the skills they learnt.

Last term was also very exciting as we did our Titanic class assembly. I was proud of you all as I thought it was excellent. It was a great opportunity to let all of your parents see what we have been learning in class. What did you enjoy about the assembly?

As you probably will have noticed some of the Titanic work is on display along the KS2 corridors and in the main entrance. I think all of the work produced looks fab and of a very high standard!

I am looking forward to all the exciting things we have coming up this term. Write back and let me know what you thought of last term and what you are looking forward to this term.

World Book Day…your thoughts

Well I think World Book Day was fantastic! It was lovely to see so many of you dressed up as your favourite book characters. My burglar mask took quite a long time to get off – I had even managed to smudge the black face paint into my hair!

I had a great time in class and I am very pleased with all the wonderful work you have produced. It will look fab on display.

Your ideas for our book corner were fantastic and hopefully we will win the prize. Fingers crossed!

I have told you what I thought about World Book day now I would like to hear what you thought of it. What were your highlights of the day?

I’m looking forward to reading your replies.
